Sometimes I like to take a light-hearted look at serious topics. Here is my attempt to address the subject of aging. Hope you enjoy:
My best days are behind me,
I've left a legacy;
Even how my dog acts,
Will be what it will be.
I've got some artificial joints,
I take a dozen pills;
My senses are diminshed,
I watch TV for thrills.
My 50th reunion,
Is coming up this year;
But I don't even want to go,
'Cause I stopped drinkin' beer.
I socialize on facebook,
I type and click the mouse;
I keep good track of all my friends,
And stay inside the house.
I'm lookin' for employment,
But when they look at me;
They say, "We'll call you, don't call us",
I'd even work for free!
Been dieting since New Years,
I've dropped a couple pounds;
I used to lose weight easily,
But now I just stay "round"!
When the preacher talks in Church,
I listen to him preach;
I need for him to tell me,
That Heaven's still in reach!
The end is getting closer,
But me it doesn't scare;
I hope the world's a better place,
Because I once was there...
